Professional Headshots

The contemporary world is centered on an online presence. In Business, first impressions are more frequently occurring based on a cursory image browse of LinkedIn, Google, and Facebook. In Acting, the Casting Director makes a split second decision from your face among dozens on their screen at a time.

YEAH, OKAY. WHAT MAKES YOU SO SPECIAL?

Fair question. In most industries there exists two tiers of service. There is the "generalist". We all know the handyman, the general practitioner, the neighborhood mechanic. When it comes to more advanced needs, the second tier comes into play: "The Specialist". The antiques restoration expert, the neurosurgeon, the Ferrari Mechanic. I'm a headshot specialist. I've focused my study and practice on the art of headshots. I love coaching your facial expressions and providing you with images that you'll love by getting to know you and your personal brand.

I'M NOT AN ACTOR. WHY DO I NEED PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS?

Time to pay attention. While it's true that headshots have been traditionally reserved for celebrities, authors, and that super intense gamer guy; times they are a'changing. No. They have changed! The contemporary world is centered on an online presence. In Business, those crucial first impressions are more frequently occurring based on a cursory image browse of LinkedIn, Google, and Facebook. Let's make them look twice! Schedule your session, today and put your best look forward. If you're asking why, take a look at your own habits. How much time are you spending skipping over photos that don't grab your attention?

BUT, I HATE HOW I LOOK IN PICTURES!

First of all, that is NOT a question. Or maybe there is a question deep in the core sentiment of that statement...Regardless, one of the primary duties of any photographer is to help you get past the fact that you're standing in front of a camera. If you're tense in front of the lens/lights, it's my job to help you feel comfortable and guide you into the right expression. By the end of the session, you'll be surprised that you can have fun in a process that can be intimidating to a lot of people!

OKAY, FINE. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TO WEAR?

Great question! You're already ahead of most people by realizing your outfit is important. The old adage "Dress for the job you want" still rings true, so as soon as we have scheduled the date and time of your session, you'll receive a prep guide. Inside, you'll find some tips on what to wear, how to do your hair/makeup (if applicable and you've opted out of a professional hair and makeup artist.) The end goal is for you to bring your favorite outfits and shirts that fit the guidelines and your goal for the shoot. Together, we'll go through the items you brought to present the best look!

WAIT...WHAT!? PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP?

Yep! A professional hair and makeup artist recommended for all my clients. This is to help touch up your hair and accentuate your natural beauty with makeup designed specifically to bring out your natural look. We're not slathering on gobs of the stuff. We're just going for a simple "I woke up like this" look. I used "NATURAL" twice, for a reason! No heavy eye shadows or liners and no crazy accent colors. These don't translate well for most headshots. Also, opt ifor a liquid foundation which gives your skin a more dewy look, rather than a powder that can give you a more "caked on" appearance on camera. If you have any questions about it, please give me a call!

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?

Things happen! Once we've locked in a time, you'll be invoiced for a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the space. Shooting dates fill up fast so in order for me to keep an accurate studio calendar and reserve the slot for you, the deposit applies to the final cost of your session. At the same time, I understand that sometimes life happens and things may come up that will prevent you from keeping your appointment. If you can notify me more than 48 hrs of the shoot and are able to reschedule within 30 days, we'll be able to apply that deposit to the newly appointed time. If you're unable to lock in the schedule after the 30 days or don't show up on the day of the shoot, the deposit is forfeit.
